This course educates learners on Humidified High Flow Therapy and Nasal Insufflation which are critical skills to be learned that enables patients to be cared for and weaned off of mechanical ventilation. It is one of seven courses that comprise Enhanced Respiratory Care Certification.

Learning objectives:

• Understand the clinical benefits of humidified high flow therapy:
  – Describe the decreased opportunity for

  – Describe the benefits of 100% relative
  humidity
  – Describe the multiple interfaces for the
  devices
  – Compare the benefits to traditional cool
  mist aerosol
• Mechanical In-exsufflation:
  – Understand the benefits of mechanical in-
  exsufflation for multiple disease processes
  – Describe the benefits for neuromuscular
  diseases and spinal cord injuries
  – Describe the benefits for infection
  prevention in weaning and chronic residents
  – Detail simultaneous oscillation therapy with
  mechanical in-exsufflation
