Foundations of Sepsis Diagnosis and the Role of Lactate

Foundations of Sepsis Diagnosis and the Role of Lactate

Module 1 – Foundations of Sepsis Diagnosis and the Role of Lactate

This module is the first of three modules of the course “Identifying Patients in the Sepsis Gray Zone” and serves as a “level-set,” establishing a shared mindset and language around sepsis detection.

Key themes include:

  • The physiological cascade sepsis triggers, revisiting what’s happening inside the body
  • The rationale behind the Three- and Six-Hour Bundles of sepsis care, and when “Time Zero” actually begins
  • The importance of collaboration across healthcare disciplines and settings

  1. It’s great you’re offering free CME on sepsis. However I saw 2 problems with this module: a) during the first half, the speech is speeded up in a segment and I had to slow down the video to hear it and b) item #2 on the quiz appears to be graded wrong. Options A, B, and C are all considered wrong. I didn’t try ‘D” because discharge would not be considered time zero.
